backgroundI was born in Virginia, but raised in New Jersey my whole life. I come from a family of 5 - my mom, dad, younger brother, myself, and Ellie, a very spoiled cocker spaniel. A few fun facts about me: I've been a vegetarian since the age of 7, I am an avid dog lover, and I come from a background of teachers and principals; I even married a teacher :) My husband and I have two rescue dogs that we absolutely adore.

educationEver since I was younger, I knew the classroom was where I was meant to be. I studied elementary education in college and minored in math. I'm thrilled to be Selwyn's K-2 math facilitator this year! I got both my undergraduate and graduate degree from The University of Connecticut (Go Huskies!) I have my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, a subject I am very passionate about.

teaching experience
After graduate school, my husband and I moved down to Charlotte together. I was one of five teachers to help open a charter school here, where I worked for two years as the lead first grade teacher. I then went to teach third grade at a different school in Mooresville, NC. I am very excited to enter my fifth year as a classroom teacher and to be a part of the Selwyn team and family!
